MHUG organises and/or participates in various babywearing and maternity events. Here are some of them:

 "L'ABBRACCIO CHE FA CRESCERE" (The Embrace that Makes Us Grow): THE FIRST INFORMAL CONVENTION ON ITALIAN BABYWEARING                          

 Presentations were given by experts in the world of psychology, neonatology and childcare on the themes:

- WEARING, AN EMBRACE THAT CREATES SAFETY:Dr. Alessandra Bortolotti, perinatal psychologist, examined the theme of baby wearing, themes taken from his best-seller, “E se poi prende il vizio?” (And If It Becomes a Habit?)

- WEARING AS THERAPY, THE DEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH OF PREMATURE BABIES THROUGH THE WARMTH OF EMBRACE: DR. Antonio Marra, Neonatologist, Head of the Paediatric-Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Santa Croce hospital in Moncalieri, Turin, explained the benefits of baby wearing for newborn babies and in particular, preemies.

  • -USING YOUR VOICE, THE EMBRACE IN MUSIC: Dr. Maria Teresa Nardi, musicologist, specialist in the practice of music therapy from pregnancy onwards, addressed the playful theme of the sound dialogue between mother and child.

A TWO-DAY WORKSHOP AND MEETING ON THE THEME OF "ECO":

An opportunity to learn about companies in the field of family and childhood well-being who are innovative and concerned with quality, ethical principles and respect for the environment.

An opportunity to experiment with ancient methods and new techniques in wellness such as yoga in pregnancy, Pilates for mother and child, traditional Ayurvedic baby massage and Ayurvedic medicine reinterpreted according to Western requirements.
 An opportunity to "get your hands dirty" and do gardening workshops for children, to create home-made games with recycled materials and to learn how to make your own creams and ointments for the well-being of the entire family. The agenda also included meetings on the themes of childcare and eco well-being for women.
