WARNING!

Before use, you must carefully read the operating instructions supplied with the product, study each specific position and follow the video instructions provided. Failure to follow instructions could result in serious injury or death. Accidents can be avoided by knowing what the risk factors are. We take nothing for granted and spend a lot of time acquainting ourselves with any potential threats to our children's safety. Safety is passed on through the product, the information provided with the product, and the wearer's knowledge. The three greatest risks to your baby's health when using a kangaroo baby carrier or sling are: falling, suffocation and strangulation.

Many supports, those which are healthier when used correctly, become baby carriers only when positioned by the adult on his or her own torso. If you think about it, before using it, a wrap is simply a long piece of fabric. The bearer's behaviour therefore plays a crucial role in the safety of the one being carried. Following are some fundamental guidelines:

Remember that a child in the baby carrier is like an extension of your own body, therefore always pay attention and always use your common sense when carrying a child.

Baby carriers are supports intended for adult use. They should not be left unattended in the presence of children.

The risk of suffocation is high, above all in the case of premature babies with respiratory problems and those under 4 months of age. Do not use for babies born prematurely without first consulting your doctor.

Make sure the child's airways are never covered. The mouth and nose should always be free. Make sure that the baby's face is always visible, it should never be placed against the fabric, or bearer's body. You can breastfeed while "wearing" your baby. Always make sure your baby's face is not pressed against your chest once breast feeding is over.

Do not allow the child's head and neck to withdraw into a C position with your body, this position can constrict and interfere with the child's respiration - even if the airways are not obstructed - causing suffocation.

Your balance could be affected by your own movements or those of your child. Take care when bending, and when leaning forward or sideways.

To prevent accidental falls, entrapment and incorrect positioning, constantly monitor your child, the child's leg position and that of the product, adjusting it accordingly to the bearer's build and that of the child (i.e. not too tight or too loose).

Always support your baby's head and body with one hand when moving or bending over. When you go through a door and/or turn a corner, be careful the baby's head and body do not catch against the walls or door jambs.

Check the child's temperature periodically.

Carrying a child can be heavy and/or tiring. Do not use if you're not in good physical condition. Take occasional breaks when using a baby carrier. Pay careful attention when wearing a baby carrier; get help, if possible when you are seated and in a position where you can rest your baby on a soft, horizontal surface (e.g. a bed). Do not wear other accessories that interfere with the space occupied by the child (e.g. bags, necklaces, headphones, etc.) while using the products. When regulating the product don't forget to consider your own clothing and that of your baby.

Do not use for sports activities.

Do not use any baby carrier in the car, on a bicycle, motorcycle, etc. A baby carrier is not a replacement car child seat. MHUG would like to remind you that the use of a safety seat in compliance with current legislation is mandatory when travelling by car. While "wearing" a baby refrain from driving any vehicle, be it a bicycle, motorcycle or car, etc.

Do not wear the baby carrier while cooking or working with sharp objects and hot liquids. Never stand near an open flame. Or the source of harmful chemical emission.

You can eat and drink while wearing the baby carrier, but avoid hot food and drinks, spilling them could have serious consequences.

Keep a safe distance from dangerous objects while using a baby carrier. The child could touch them and injure himself.

Periodically and always prior to use: fully check the baby carrier and various fasteners, especially after washing; check that the knots / rings / Velcro fasteners are positioned and tightened correctly. For safety, always tie a double knot to prevent the child from falling.

Once the product has been put on correctly, double check that any free cords / pieces of fabric are not in danger of catching on external objects, are not accessible to the child, and that the baby cannot get caught in the straps or slide out.

Use the product for carrying one child only. Never use more than one baby carrier at a time.

SUGGESTIONS FOR ALL MHUG BABY CARRIERS:

As soon as the baby has been settled into the baby carrier, start walking while rocking him gently. Weather permitting, go out for a stroll.

When trying it out for the first few times make sure your baby is well fed, rested and relaxed. Children don't like being "guinea pigs", so practice with a doll to begin with, ideally in front of the mirror.
